    • What is Holy Orders?

Holy Orders is the Sacrament by which the apostolic ministry founded by Christ is handed on.
      Holy Orders:

      • Is a sacrament at the service of communion.
      • Is a handing on of participation in the ministerial priesthood which is distict but related to the priesthood of the baptized.

"Holy Order is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: this it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate."

-Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 1536

  • Receiving Holy Orders

    • Receiving Holy Orders

Those who are prayerfully discerning a call to the priesthood or the permenent diaconate enter into a formation process with the Archdiocese. All of us here at Christ by the Sea support those who discern vocations and both priests are happy to talk to those with questions.

      Vocations to the Diaconate

    • Supporting Vocations

Praying for an increase in vocations, teaching about all vocations, and working to inspire all to discern their vocation is a priority here at Christ by the Sea that we encourage you to get involved in.
