Sacramental Preparation: First Reconciliation & First Eucharist

This is the path for families that have a child who is preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. These are families who typically have a child in the second grade, though not always! Your whole family participates together in an at-church activity once a month. Between monthly at-church meetings, parents are asked to lead one or more faith-based activities at home.  There is a family retreat experience in preparation for each sacrament. The materials we are using for First Reconciliation preparation are called MEND and for First Eucharist preparation are called NOURISH. We will also offer family activities for Advent and Lent.

Families on this path will select one of three teams to join.

• Shining Stars: 1 Tuesday/month, 5:30-7:00 p.m. (Cohasset)
• Spirit Squad: 1 Thursday/month, 5:30-7:00 p.m. (Hull)
• Graceful Giants: 1 Sunday/month, 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (Cohasset)

If your family has already participated in MEND and NOURISH and you have another child now preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, you have two choices.

1. Particpate in MEND and NOURISH again with your whole family. Repetition is a great teacher!
2. Participate in ROOT plus the retreats for MEND and NOURISH.

Saint Anthony of Padua Parish and Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish strive to be a community of families growing in faith together. We are at different places in our spiritual lives, but disciples are formed when we are on the journey together. We want to have adults and children learning about the same topic in their own way and help give parents language to share faith with their children. Faith formation is lifelong!
